Online Registration

The enrollment agreement is a legally binding document when signed or sent online by the student and accepted by the School of Shiatsu & Massage. Your signature on the agreement acknowledges that you have been given reasonable time to read and understand the Enrollment Agreement and that you have read: (a) a written statement of the refund policy including examples of how it applies and; (b) a catalogue or have accessed the web site and viewed class descriptions that include information for all class material facts concerning the school and its programs which may be likely to affect your decision to enroll. You will be given a copy to retain for your records.

To complete your registration for a class, we request that you fill out and fax or mail
the entire enrollment packet, consisting of the Enrollment Agreement (needed only once each year) and the Class Enrollment Form, plus the Catering Questionnaire.

California Residents: add $2.50 per class ($5.00 for a 100 hour class). This is the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) fee (see explanation at bottom of page)*

Class Fees include a deposit of $100 for 16.5, 25 hour and 50 hour classes, and a deposit of $200 for 100 hour classes. The deposit is not refunded if you cancel less than 14 days before the class starts.

Deposits

The deposit of $100 for each registered class (for 100 hour classes, deposit=$200) is due upon submission of enrollment form(s).

Final Payment is due at least two weeks before the class begins. By then, you will have received a registration confirmation notice listing the total amount due, minus the registration deposit. You must contact the School to make this payment:

  • By phone or email to authorize final payment to the credit card you used for Online Registration.
  • By phone to authorize final payment to a different credit card. DO NOT email credit card numbers.
  • By mail to send a check or money order. DO NOT send cash in the mail

If you register within two weeks of a class, you must authorize final payment at the time that you receive your registration confirmation notice and your deposit is not refundable 

If the School has not received your Final Payment on time, you may be cancelled from the class and you will forfeit your deposit.

Online Harbin Ride Board

Rides to Harbin can be offered or accepted at the Harbin Ride Board group at Yahoo Groups. Use it to see if you can join someone who is driving to Harbin soon, let others know when you'll be driving to/from Harbin, or tell others when you'd like a ride. If you have a flexible schedule, you can even register (free) to receive all messages by e-mail as they are posted. * STUDENT TUITION RECOVERY FUND (STRF):

You must pay the state-imposed assessment for the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) if all of the following applies to you:

  1. You are a student, who is a California resident and prepays all or part of your tuition either by cash, guaranteed student loans, or personal loans, and
  2. Your total charges are not paid by any third-party payer such as an employer, government program or other payer unless you have a separate agreement to repay the third party.                                

You are not eligible for protection from the STRF and you are not required to pay the STRF assessment, if either of the following applies:

  1. You are not a California resident.
  2. Your total charges are paid by a third party, such as an employer, government program of other payer, and you have no separate agreement to repay the third party.

The state of California created the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) to relieve or mitigate economic losses suffered by California residents who were students attending certain schools regulated by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.

  

You may be eligible for STRF if you are a California resident, prepaid tuition, paid the STRF assessment, and suffered an economic loss as a result of any of the following:

  1. The school closed before the course of instruction was completed.
  2. The school’s failure to pay refunds or charges on behalf of a student to a third party for license fees or any other purpose, or to provide equipment or materials for which a charge was collected within 180 days before the closure of the school.
  3. The school’s failure to pay or reimburse loan proceeds under a federally guaranteed student loan program as required by law or to pay or reimburse proceeds received by the school prior to closure in excess of tuition and other cost.
  4. There was a decline in the quality of the course of instruction within 30 days before the school closed, or if the decline began earlier than 30 days prior to closure, the period of decline determined by the Bureau.
  5. An inability to collect on a judgment against the institution for a violation of the Act.
